Alegre y Olé

Alegre y Olé tells the story of Lena and Carmen, two very different women who are admitted to a mental health center. Lena is a young woman who has just attempted suicide and is going through a moment of profound lack of communication with everything around her, while Carmen is an old woman who has burned down her house and flatly refuses to hold her newborn grandson in her arms. As the days go by, both will begin to develop a very special, and, in a way, specular, relationship in which they will be able to open up and share the experiences and abuses that have brought them here. Thus, projecting themselves onto each other through empathy, affection and lack of judgment, both will manage to overcome their own guilt and fears and, in this way, plant together the first seed of their recovery.
