Stephanie, a middle-class New York woman, feels overwhelmed by the different roles that society imposes on her: being a perfect wife and mother, as well as demonstrating her inexhaustible work performance in a competitive world. The enormous tension to which she will be subjected will lead her to the limits of her own identity.
