Álex, seventeen years old, works in his father's video store. From the counter he watches life go by, like every day. But one afternoon, Fátima, the same age, comes in to rent three movies. As they start a conversation, each one's cards are spread out on the table: he is a dreamer who says he sees magic in the universe of video stores, magical places where bonds are created between the people who inhabit them, bewitched by the passion for cinema. She is cynical about Alex's nerdy fantasies, and states from the first moment that a video store is just that: a video store. This brief encounter between covers and shelves will mean a before and after for Alex and Fátima, belonging to a generation more hurt and alone than adults seem to know. Two opposing views intertwine in the most genuine way to find a reflection on bonds, loneliness and love, aspects of everyday life driven by cinema as a creative and universal force.
