On March 11, 2004, María boards the train to university on her 19th birthday, while Nicolai starts his first day at a new job. After the attacks, María’s mother, Carmen, desperately tries to reach her, spending hours trapped in uncertainty over whether her daughter was on one of the targeted trains.
