Ponche de huevo

Celia makes her famous eggnog at home, a Christmas recipe she learned when she lived in New York. She has invited Irene, Paloma and Tere, her best friends, to dinner at her house. With all the strength of his will he tries not to give importance to the fact that today he turns 44 years old and by his own decisions he has given up having a partner and children to concentrate on other vital goals. Her friends, on the other hand, are mothers, which will soon become the topic of conversation at dinner. As if this were not enough, they have brought him an unexpected and mysterious gift that they will give him after dessert. When Celia opens it she can't believe what her friends have thought for her: they are giving her frozen sperm so that she can be free to inseminate herself without having to find a partner. Her friends explain to her that it is a modern solution that science now makes possible, and that it represents another liberation for women “like her.” Celia doesn't know how to take it, she feels pressured and at the same time tries to understand that her friends have done it with the best intentions, or at least that's what they say. On the other hand, the ambivalence with which Celia receives the gift divides the group of friends. When Celia goes to the kitchen to serve the glasses of punch, Tere reproaches Paloma and Irene for what they have done, even though she was also a participant in the operation. Meanwhile, already in the kitchen, Celia has a perverse idea to reaffirm her position. She decides to thaw the sperm and mix it with the punch that she is going to serve to her friends. When the friends innocently drink the punch mixed with the “gift,” Celia experiences it as a victory of her independence over social pressures.
