In 1998, Zoilamérica Ortega Murillo accused her stepfather, Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega, of sexual abuse. Almost two decades later, she lives in exile in Costa Rica, raising her 10-year-old son. The documentary alternates between archival images from 1998 and current scenes from 2016, during Ortega's re-election campaign, exploring the personal and political consequences of Zoilamérica's denunciation.
