La brecha

The Gap is a short film about a boy of about 14 or 15 years old who is going to spend a few days on vacation with his grandmother who lives on the outskirts of an almost abandoned town in which there is no telephone coverage or neighbors around. During the night his grandmother has a heart attack, falling to the ground and making a gash in his head, his grandson wakes up startled by the noise his grandmother makes when she falls and hits her head so he runs to help her, the boy tries to call the emergency services but there is no cell phone coverage and the closest neighbors are very very far away, so he must face the only means of communication in his grandmother's house, an old analog wheel phone, so The boy gets desperate because he doesn't know how to call with that. His grandmother dies while he tries to use that phone to find help. In the final scene of the short we will see a flashback scene, the boy's grandmother tries to withdraw money from an ATM, the woman becomes desperate because she does not know how that device works and she urgently needs the money to buy food. She is afraid to ask for help with something as delicate as a stranger having access to her money and no one stops to help her.
